What is Functional/Chiropractic Neurology?
Functional Neurology, also known as Chiropractic Neurology is a specialization within chiropractic where doctors train extensively in the structure and function of the nervous system. Doctors practicing Functional Neurology are trained to assess the human body’s function by measuring how the patient responds to a comprehensive series of neurological tests. The doctor will assess the patient as a whole and determine the areas of dysfunction within the system. After determining where in the body or brain that the problem is located, a Functional Neurologist can use a wide variety of therapies to rehabilitate those problem areas. Functional Neurology has been used to help patients that have diagnoses like: Parkinson’s Disease, Strokes, Alzheimer’s, Tremors, ADHD, Autism, Thyroid Problems, Chronic Pain, Concussions and many, many more.
Dr. Bartoe has trained in many aspects of functional neurology including vestibular rehabilitation and concussion/brain injury.
